Greetings. My name is Allen Newton. I recently started a service that is ideal for churches’ maintenance needs.

Now, a little about me. I was in ministry for over 30 years, mostly as a missionary. Along with preaching, teaching and leadership training, I also did a lot of construction. I had been involved in various facets of construction since I was a teenager, and it was a real need where we were. My last missionary project was transforming a bare piece of land into a camp and retreat center. Construction was pretty much always ongoing, and I served as the director of the facility and did the maintenance of it for about 10 years.
In 2016 my wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. We came back to the states for treatment, which she endured for 4 years. During that time, I was on staff at a fairly large church as property manager. After her death in 2020 I stepped out of ministry and started selling roofing and siding. It was an alright experience for the time, but my heart was not really in it.
The positive takeaway from that time was that I saw how that world really functions. I began thinking of ways to improve the experience of customers and contractors. I came up with a solution, and it is working very well.
Most larger contractors are top heavy. They pay salaries and commissions, overhead for buildings and equipment, marketing and other things that add to their overhead. That, of course, has to be passed on to the customer. I’m not saying that to criticize them, it is just the reality of the current system.
So, what if there was a way to cut out some of that fat without sacrificing quality? There is.
I have created Synapse Solutions. The solution is simple. I maintain a list of vetted contractors in every area of construction, gather leads from various sources (often times through lead sharing between our contractors and customers) and match the best contractor to the job.
It’s that simple. I don’t charge for leads or for the matchmaking. I have the contractor add a simple commission onto every job so we can keep providing this service.
Simple, smooth, efficient. And I bridge the gap throughout the entire process. I don’t just hand off the job, I am there for both sides in any way needed: from alpha to omega.
I think you can see how this could be a great blessing to churches. Whether or not you have a property manager, this process streamlines getting your work done. And saves you money! Most contractors have to run on over 30% margins, often much more, just to make a profit. Imagine how much more you will have for other ministry needs and projects. (Dare I mention missions?)
